How to get Bardia National Park ?

By Air: There are regular flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj Airport, which is nearest airport to Bardia National Park. You will have 45 minute flight and about 2 hour drive to National Park Lodge. There are not much things to hanging around for in Nepalganj So, you will have a Pick up vehicle which will take you to thakurdwara, headquarters of Bardia.

By Drive: You can take Private or Bus Transportation. Daily Transportation Service are available from Kathmandu to Ambassa, the gateway to National Park and Take Local buses to Thakurdwara which leave a few times a day. Going the whole way by bus is only recommendable if you are on a really tight budget. It takes around 14 hours driving from Kathmandu to Bardia National Park, 12 Hours from Pokhara and 8 Hours from Chitwan.

Day 01:

Arrival in Kathmandu (1,300m/4,264ft). Transfer to Hotel.

After Breakfast at Hotel, we set out for a sighsteeing of Kathmandu Valley as per our itinerary includes the tour of Pashupatinath temple, Swayambhunath, Boudhanath Stupa and Kathmandu Durbar Square. Instead of Kathmandu Durbar Sqaure you will have option to visit Patan Durbar Square. All these sites are listed in UNESCO World Heritage Site list. Pashupatinath Temple is considered one of the holiest place for the Hindus built in pagoda style and site is a collection of temples, ashrams, images, inscriptions and the cremation ceremony of the Hindus can be seen along the Bagmati’s river bank. Swayambhunath Stupa is located at top of hill which is believed to be around 2500 years old. The four sides structure represents the four elements of earth, fire, wind and water. There are 365 steps passing through which you will reach the holy site or there is option of driving. Bouddhanath Stupa is one of the oldest and biggest monument built in the Himalayan nation. Explore around the inspiring white dome reverberate with energy; observe and send a prayer where you wish. on each side are a pair of the all-seeing-eyes of the Buddha symbolizing awareness, look around for souvenirs. Kathmandu Durbar Square is also known as Hanuman Dhoka Palace. Many temples which are dedicated to different Hindu deities. Most of the buildings here were constructed from the 15th – 18th century. The palace is named after the Hindu god Hanuman, who is regarded as the protector of the entire palace. The Durbar Square of Kathmandu holds many old palaces, buildings, temples and statues from medieval times. Unique Nepali architecture, amazing wood-crafting, stone and metal works, rare carvings done on their doors and windows. After the tour, you will return back to the hotel. Day 03:

Fly to Nepalgunj, drive to Bardia National Park (300m/1000ft)

You will be accommodate at Deluxe 3-Star Hotel in Kathmandu. The rooms in Kathmandu are fitted with air conditioners and have en-suite bathrooms with 24-hour hot water. Other amenities include free wi-fi, restaurant, coffee shop. Restaurants in Kathmandu and around the area cater continental, Chinese, Mexican, American based cuisine with some local influences, always plenty to choose from accordingly. In Bardia, you will be staying at simple but comfortable accommodation in a relaxed and natural environment. All the necessary amenities are available: Delxue room having double bed, private bathroom, air-conditioning, fan, mosquito nets and a canopy above each bed for extra protection from insects. The room spills onto a glorious balcony, best for relax and reading. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are provided during the 3 Nights 4 Days Bardia Jungle Safari Tour. All the Accommodations are on twin sharing basis. However, Single Supplement can be provided upon request at additional cost. Please be Noted that, Upon the extra Cost you can upgrade to luxurious hotel in Kathmandu and luxury lodge in Bardia.

Visa for Nepal

Visa is available at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu’s where you can simply get the “On Arrival Visa” with the application that require at least a passport of 6 months’ validity, and a passport size photo. You will be charged USD $ 30 for 15 days and USD $ 50 for 30 days as visa application fee which have to be paid in cash on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. For those tourists who have Indian and Chinese passports then you do not need a visa (Free Visa).

Best time to visit Bardia National Park

Bardia National Park is open throughout the year but during autumn, winter and early summer is regards as the best season. In the Month of Mid-September till Mid-December and the beginning of February till the end of May it offers the best views with big chance to see the Royal Bengal Tiger and other wildlife.
