10 Days Everest Base Camp Trek is excellent alternative of Classical 15 Days Everest Base Camp Trek trail. These route is recommended for those who has lack of time and want to complete the trek within a short time following the same trail excluding acclimization days. But you will have time to evening acclimatize and take rest. You can see same things that you will in the regular EBC trek. Please be noted that, 10 Days itinerary does not includes Arrival, Departure and acclimization days in Namche Bazaar, Dingboche.

Our trek commence with the early morning flight to Lukla by taking advantage of the good weather. Try to get seat on the left hand side of the plane for incredible views. On reaching Lukla we meet our porters and had a short refreshment breakfast break. We head towards Phakding passing the Cheplung village and bank of Dudh Koshi river. You will be likely to encounter fellow trekkers, locals, and yaks with their tinkling bells. Next Morning, Trek to pass through the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park and number of high suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River that lead us to village of Namche Bazaar. It is the most prosperous and the largest town in the Khumbu. If you are here on a weekend, check out trading centre with a weekly Saturday local market. In this package there is no rest day and to acclimatize in the middle so this trip is not recommended for first timer.

The trek to Tengboche get amazingly beautiful views with views of Mountain, gradual downhill through refreshing rhododendron forest and alpine meadow filled with pine trees. Tengboche Monastery looms over the settlement of Tengboche. It is one of the oldest and important Buddhist monasteries in the Everest Region. Along with panoramic view from the monastery, Buddhist prayer flags dancing colourfully in the wind and Buddhist murals adorn the monastery’s walls. DAY 01:

Fly from Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding (2,640m)

Distance: 45 Minutes flight; 4-5 hours trek

Accommodation: Standard trekking lodge

Today early morning, Along with the guide and office representative will transfer you to Kathmandu Airport for regular flight to Lukla (2,800m), which brings you to the start of your trek. The 35 minutes flight itself is spectacular and exciting which offers you to enjoy the beauty green hills along with background of snowy mountain peaks. Try to get seat on the left-hand side of the plane for incredible views. On reaching Lukla we meet our porters and had a short refreshment break. We head towards Phakding (2,652 meters) passing the Cheplung village and bank of Dudh Koshi river. This first Day hike to Phakding is specifically designed for the purpose of acclimatization, allowing you time to get used to the higher elevation. You will be likely to encounter fellow trekkers, locals, and yaks with their tinkling bells. Today's trek is relatively short around 3-4 hours. Overnight at Lodge in Phakding. DAY 02:

Trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar (3,440m)

Distance: 5-6 hours trek

After Breakfast, trek from Phakding to Namche Bazaar. We begin our trek through forest, over yak pastures and passes through the village of Monjo we made our way to the entry point of Sagarmatha National Park. At about half-way up the ascent, a gap in the trees allows us to spy Mount Everest for the first time. Today trekking route consists of a number of high suspension bridges over the Dudh Koshi River that lead us to village of Monjo, entrance of Sagarmatha National Park. At Monjo, our guide will complete the paperwork of permits and head on up to towards the Namche through Jorsalle. The trail gets steeper along the way, and crossing suspension bridge we start our final ascent to Namche Bazaar. Upon your arrive at Namche, settle into your accommodations and explore the town. It is the most prosperous and the largest town in the Khumbu. If you are here on a weekend, check out trading centre with a weekly Saturday local market. Overnight at Lodge in Namche Bazaar. DAY 03:

Trek from Namche Bazaar to Tengboche (3,860 m)

After Breakfast at Lodge, We begin our trek from Namche Bazzar to Tengboche. As we continue the trail get amazingly beautiful views with views of Lhotse, Nuptse and Ama Dablam. Its mostly gradual and downhill through refreshing rhododendron forest and alpine meadow filled with pine trees. The hike to Tengboche is uphill through pine trees for about two hours from Phunki Thenka which is ideal point for lunch and take rest before making the steep climb to Tengboche. The region is rich in wildlife including musk deer and colorful pheasants on the way. Tengboche Monastery looms over the settlement of Tengboche. It is one of the oldest and important Buddhist monasteries in the Everest Region. Trek from Tengboche to Dingboche (4,410 m)

After Breakfast, We continue our trek through descend the rhododendron forests, lush forest, across the river and then gradual steep climbs. Take a gradual climb up to the valley’s highest year round settlement of Pangboche. On the way, there is great vantage points of Ama Dablam. You will see a lot of yaks grazing over a slope of the cliff. We will be entering the Imja valley following the Lobuche river then climbing a steep trail eventually reaching towards Dingboche. Get view of Mount Ama Dablam and Mt. Lhotse. Dingboche is also known as the "Summer Valley" you will experience these place is sunnier than Namche and Tengboche. DAY 05:

Trek from Dingboche to Lobuche (4,940 m)

After breakfast at Dingboche, you will head towards Lobuche. You will climb to Dughla enjoy the stunning view of Taboche, Cholatse, Ama Dablam and Kantega. Get ready, This is Our Big Day! Finally, this is most awaiting day throughout the trip. Enjoy hot breakfast in Lobuche before we start trekking to Gorakshep. On the trail, we follow the glacial Morane and rockery next to highest glacier in the world. Moving ahead to Gorak Shep, which is about 3 hours from Lobuche and the Khumbhu Glacier come closer. After lunch in Gorakshep(5181m/16994ft), you will walk to Khumbu Glacier to the top of the edge, Everest Base Camp (5,364m). We will walk slowly to prevent the high altitude sickness problem. The route from Gorakshep to Everest Base Camp includes numerous short ups and downs. You will spend time enjoying your achievement and taking photograph, History Made! DAY 07:

Hike to Kala Pathar and trek Gorak Shep to Pheriche (4,250m/13,945ft)

Wake up early morning, then 2 hours hike brings us to the famous Kalapathar viewpoint. From Kalapathar (which means "black rock") we will get 360 degree of panoramic mountain view along with Khumbu Glacier and sunrise on the top of world’s highest peak, Everest. You will also get panoraminc view of Mountain peaks like Mt. Pumori, Mt. Lingtren, Mt. Khumbetse, Mt. Nuptse, Mt. Lhotse, Mt. Ama Dablam, Mt. Thamserku. DAY 08:

Trek from Pheriche to Namche Bazaar (3,440m/11,285 ft)

Distance: 5-6 hours trek

After Breakfast at Pheriche, you will walk back to Tengboche and slowly move down towards phungki Thanka, pass the Kyangjuma and reach Namche Bazaar by late afternoon. We cross the first bridge over the DudhKhoshi River on our return trip in Phunki tenga and having passed the village of Tashinga and Sansa. We continues to Namche via passing different Mani stone, Chorten, and Stupas. Namche is the main trading center of Khumbu region where quality restaurants, hotels, lodges, internet cafes and bakeries are available. Following the same way back to Namche is an easy walk and you will enjoy the Himalayas more pleasantly. In this busy trail, encounter the caravan of fellow trekkers, porters, locals and Yak used for transporting goods. The night will be spent here so that you can enjoy a hot shower, and relax in restaurants, cafes and bakeries. DAY 09:

Trek from Namche Baazar to Lukla (2,850m/9,350 ft)

Distance: 6-7 hours trek

After Breakfast at Namche Bazaar, we began our trek back to Lukla following the Dudh Kosi river valley and crossing several suspension bridge along with Hillary Suspension Bridge. Enjoy the beauteous views of the blue-pine and rhododendron forest, Mani-stone walls, prayer flags and Sherpa Village. We pass through villages like Chumoa, Benkar, Phakding, and Chuthawa, eventually reaching the Pasang Lhamu Memorial Gate signifying the end of the trek. On arrival in Lukla, trekking ends. You can stretch up your sore legs and have a rest for a while and later stroll around the village, listening to the stories of the locals and experience their lifestyle. These is final day of your trekking most trekkers make a celebration with their guide and crew members at Lukla. You have done it. Overnight at Lodge in Lukla.

DAY 10:

Fly back to Kathmandu, Farewell Dinner

Important Notes

Best Time to Trek

10 Days Everest Base Camp Trek can be done throughout the year, but the best time are Spring (March, April, May) and Autumn (September, October, November). During these time you will find moderate temperatures and provide better view of mountains, less heat haze cloud and clear views of mountains. From October to December you will see more green forests in the region. Although this trip can be experience during winter and monsoon seasons too, though it is not suitable for everyone. The higher you go the colder it’s going to be. Above 4000 meters, you can expect snow and temperatures to descend rapidly below zero degrees. Be prepared for all weather conditions and have the right gear as there is always a risk of rain at lower elevations and Snow higher up during the trail.

Physical Condition & Experience Requirements

Everest Base Camp Trek 10 Days is a moderate trek, Strenuous hiking on mountain paths, covering 3 to 9 miles per day on rugged terrain. These trek is suitable for keen trekkers who are able to walk for 4 – 6 hours in a day, with a light rucksack. There are 10 days walking with full porterage throughout the trekking and all there is left to worry about is your water, snacks and camera. Everest Base Camp trek is suitable for anyone with moderate fitness level for relative newcomers and first times to highly experienced hikers. Past trekking/walking experience would be an asset but not required to have any technical experience only that you need be in good physical condition and able to walk for 4 – 6 hours per day. The maximum altitude is 5,545m and the average is approximately 3,900m. EBC Trekking route consists of hills and flat-lands, you will mostly walk up-hill and down-hill with some steep portion. We recommend undertaking a gym training programme and practice morning jogging and exercise with hike 6-8 weeks prior to embarking on the trek.

Accommodation During the Trip

At Aspiration Adventure, We believe that the accommodation is one of the major factor that enhances your overall travel experience. Keeping this in consideration, During trekking, you will be staying at standard lodge as possible. Accommodate in mountain are simple but it is standard, clean, comfortable lodge with great views of the mountain and sceneries. All the Accommodations are on twin sharing basis. However, Single Supplement can be provided upon request at additional cost. The rooms at mountain teahouses consist of nice and warm blankets, mattresses, pillows, bedsheets. During the trek in mountain, we ensure accommodate to the best available tea houses with great views of the mountain and sceneries. However, We will be pleased to making reservation at any of the upgrade luxury accommodation. We are flexible and happy to make booking as per your requirement. We offers 3 Star Standard Hotel to Luxury Hotel Accommodation in Kathmandu if you wish to include in the trip.

Passport and Visa

If you are travelling to Nepal for (tour, sightseeing, travel, trekking, mountaineering, visiting friends and families) then you need to have a visa to enter Nepal. Arrival Visa is available at Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu’s where you can simply get the “On Arrival Visa” with the application that require at least a passport of 6 months’ validity, and a passport size photo. You will be charged USD $ 30 for 15 days and USD $ 50 for 30 days as visa application fee which have to be paid in cash on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport. For those tourists who have Indian and Chinese passports then you do not need a visa (Free Visa). Most visitors will be able to obtain a visa upon arrival at the airport. The Certain country (Nigeria, Ghana, Zimbabwe, Swaziland, Cameroon, Somalia, Liberia, Ethiopia, Iraq, Palestine, Afghanistan, Syria) are requested to acquire Visa prior their arrival from their local Diplomatic missions (Embassies/Consulates) of Nepal Government.

Transportation & Flight

In this trip, Aspiration Adventure provides all the necessary transportation on private car and regular airlines flight to Lukla. Firstly we provide free arrival and departure service, Please let us know about your international flight for this service. On Arrival Day, you will be warmly welcome by our representative by traditional flower and transfer to respective hotel. For the Lukla flight you will have the Private car for the airport to hotel pick and drop off. Our flights to and from Lukla are through regular airlines twin Otter and Dornier. Similarly, According to your interest we will also private vehicles for tour around the Kathmandu Pokhara Chitwan or any destination in Nepal upon according to your intrest.

Travel Insurance

Travel Insurance is compulsory for Everest Base Camp Trek. All the trekkers must provide the travel insurance policy certificate to Aspiration Adventure. This is high-altitude trek and quite challenging which means it comes with the risks of altitude sickness and and other unforeseen events. Travel Insurance policy must cover medical and emergency repatriation including heli rescue and evacuation expenses at high altitudes. In case of emergencies, we will be using the insurance policy and informational documents you sent us to operate the quick operation. Travel Insurance comes handy in these unexpected situations by covering all of the costs of treatments, medics, and helicopter rescue.

Can I Buy trekking equipment in Kathmandu before the start of the trip?

The answer is YES! You may not have full equipment yourself that is appropriate for Everest treks in Nepal. So, it is possible and economical to buy or rent the trekking gear (e.g. boots, jacket, gloves. sleeping bags, Down Jacket) in Kathmandu. Does this package guarantee accommodation and meal?

Yes, This 12 Days Base Camp Trekking Package guarantee lodge to lodge stay at a mountain where we use the best available standard lodge during trek. Meals in the trek is very convenient but not as in cities. We include full board meal (Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) in the trekking.

Is there any communications service available while we are on trek?

There are telephones available in some village along the Everest trekking routes from where you can make both domestic and international calls. Our guides carry local sim cards and we will communicate to all our clients through our trekking guides to at least once in a day to make sure you’re fine, safe, and have right everything up there. If you are wiling to get local sim card, we recommend purchasing an Ncell and Nepal Telecom pre-paid SIM card in Kathmandu. There are various rates and packages available for local sim card you should inquire to lower data and phone charges. Aspiration Adventure teams are available to support where necessary.
On the demand, we can provide you local sim card Complimentary Service. You have the functionality of calls and data noted that, SIM card will only work where there is local cell phone reception. How do you avoid altitude sickness during trek?

  • Drink at least 3 to 4 liters of water daily to keep your body hydrated.
  • Avoid alcohol, smoking and caffeine, this are the major causes of dehydration and headache.
  • Walk slow and take time to acclimatize to the increase altitude.
  • Eat Well and Plently
  • Take Diamox Medicine as per the Doctor Instruction, an over-the-counter pill used to prevent and reduce the symptoms of altitude sickness.

Do we need to carry additional medicine for trekking?

Yes, Our guide will be carrying a first aid box along with some basic medicine like ibuprofen, codeine, paracetamol, lozenges, anti-diarrhea tablets and diamox for AMS. However, It is recommended to carry some medicine by yourself.

Are there Fixed Itineraries and Date for this trek?

Incredible Value to Everest Base Camp With Incredible People

We group of 6 people have just returned from amazing trek to Short Everest Base Camp Trek. 10 Days trek to Everest Base Camp with hiking to Kala Patthar and EBC. I originally made contact with Anjan, company owner of Aspiration Adventure in September 2019. Always polite, professional and extremely helpful. Guide and Porter was the best of all, sharing the insightful knowledge. Hospitable really went above and beyond to make our journey memorable. Lodges they booked were the best you could probably get and for a really affordable price! I highly recommend going guide Kalyan and Pemba our porter. I do not think anyone does it better than them!! Anjan and his company are very receptive, totally organized and will take care of every aspect of your journey. Lastly, he came to pick me up at the hotel to bring me to the airport for my flight back to home.
